Master Degree Programme ICT Innovation

he English-language master programme ICT Innovation combines a technical major with a minor in “Innovation Entrepreneurship”.

The DIMA group coordinates the "Data Science Track" with the specialization ""Design, Implementation, and Usage of Data Science Instruments" locally.

The  EIT Digital Masters School [2]now offers a two-year Master’s Programme with a Technical Major in Data Science [3] (DSC) and a Minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In this programme students will learn about scalable data collection techniques, data analysis methods, and a suite of tools and technologies that address data capture, processing, storage, transfer, analysis, and visualization.


Course Structure

Students will pursue their first year of study at one of eight approved academic institutions (choosen entry point). The second year of studies you will complete at the choosen exit point (in the DSC program are nine universities available as exit points). Depending on the selected combination of entry and exit universities, a speiclization results. As a designated “exit institution,” TU Berlin offers a specialization in the “Design, Implementation, and Usage of Data Science Instruments.”

Design, Implementation, and Usage of Data Science Instruments

This specialization offers deep training in three key areas, namely, scalable data management, data analysis and machine learning, and applications. We provide students with solid data science instruments knowledge (i.e., involving methods, technologies, and systems) to empower them to tackle data science problems in important application domains, such as Industry 4.0 (i.e., ICT-based manufacturing), healthcare, energy, smart cities and smart spaces, and logistics. Students will learn how to use and enhance open-source technologies, such as Hadoop, Flink, Spark, and GraphLab, in addition to working with various closed source technologies in varying settings, such as for graph mining or text mining. Students with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields are eligible to apply to this competitive programme. Upon completion, graduates will earn two Master’s degrees (from two renowned European universities) and additionally receive a certificate from the EIT Digital Master School.
