During the Dagstuhl seminar on "Databases on Future Hardware" in March 2017, Sebastian Breß lead the breakout session on "What accelerators work and where we should use them in the computer architecture?"
During the seminar we had intensive discussions on how we can accelerate database systems on modern hardware and what we would expect or wish from future hardware. At the same time, the participants from the hardware community pointed out limitations of what they can realistically provide and opened the view of the database focused participants to new technologies.
