Dr. Alexander Löser
Dr. Alexander Löser joined the DIMA Team as scientific staff member in 2008. Before, as a Post-doc at the IBM Almaden Research Center in the Avatar project, Alexander conducted research on a search engine for emails and the IBM intranet. Later he joined SAP Research as research scientist and project manager, where he investigated techniques for searching and analyzing user generated content on the SAP Software Developer Network. Alexander’s research focuses on executing ad-hoc analysis queries over user generated content, e.g., blogs or forums using cloud computing systems.
Alexander published more than 20 papers on peer-reviewed conferences, international journals and holds four patent applications. His work on the Avatar Semantic Search System with IBM Research was acknowledged in the Computer World Horizon Awards 2006. For SAP he collected third party funding for the BMBF Lighthouse Project “Aletheia” and for the EU-IP Project “OKKAM”. Alexander is member of the program committee several international conferences in the area of Research in data management and semantic web for several years.
